holiday for citizens to come together and thank US military members for their patriotic service in
support of their country.
On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson
announced the creation of an Armed Forces Day to replace separate Army, Navy, Marine Corps and
Air Force Days.
The single day celebration stemmed from the unification of the Armed Forces under the Department of Defense of the USA.

DeleteWhilst I have fond nostalgic memories about The Shop Around the Corner, I like your new idea! Looking forward to 'gather around the table' with you!
I have not eaten a good macaron in a very long time...Like a good wine or cheese for that matter, it does not travel so well...sad! I'd send you to that little shoppe nearby (particularly since they also produce my favourite...Chocolate!!)
Blessings Friend,
Such a difference is made to our lives by the dedication and total commitment of these wonderful people xxxx Lovely post
