A moment of silence...

Today marked the 66th anniversary of the end of WW2 in the Pacific.  Japan's pledge never again to engage in war and instead to actively contribute to the establishment of ever-lasting peace in the world was renewed.

Japanese Citizens offered a moment of silence from noon for about 2.3 million Japanese military personnel and 800,000 Japanese civilians killed in the war.

This elderly Japanese lady holds a dove as she prays for the souls of those killed in WW2 in a gesture for peace at the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo.

Too many lives lost...

Let's take a  moment also to remember the many men and women who fight for freedom today...

PEACE!

Always remember and never forget!
