Over The Hills And Faraway...

(Music Project - see info here)

Over the hills (well, causeways, inlets etc...) and faraway (traveling by car, ferries and through toll booths) we went...

To the City and Chihuly Garden (Garfield Park Conservatory)...

Come 'fly away' with me...Imagine the size of this Seagull...

Can you guess where...

To the Tropical Butterfly house we went...(see here)

So peaceful....

For a moment everything stood still in the tropical heat of the house...

Majestic is it not? (Forgive the mediocre photography...my little Nikon can only produce so much!)

Butterflies resting...

And this is 'what' we actually went to see before it is returned in its entirety to Aegyptos (Greek for Egypt)...

For a short while we 'crossed' the Nile from Kemet (Red land) to Deshret (Black land) to see the Golden King and the Great Pharaohs Era exhibition...More than 100 artifacts spanning 5000 years in time...
(For a quick tour of the exhibition and an introduction by Harrison Ford see HERE).

As always I learned a thing or two...Did you know that the word Pharaoh is in fact Hebrew and means Great House? And that during mummification embalmers discarded the brain? I must have missed that class in school!
Sadly photos were not allowed but the overall impression was magnificent! It is absolutely stunning to stand near these impressive artifacts! The stories they could tell...

I wonder...Will someone feel the same when they witness the remnants of our civilization in a few millenniums?
