Synopsis:
Summer, fall, winter, spring—Smitten, Vermont, is the place for love . . . and mystery!
There’s a secret in Grandma Rose’s attic—a forgotten set of dog tags belonging to her first love. But David Hutchins was killed in action and never returned to Smitten. How did the dog tags end up in the attic?
The mystery intrigues Rose’s three granddaughters—Tess, Clare, and Zoe—and they decide to investigate, though their mother, Anna, warns against meddling. But as the seasons turn and the mystery unravels, the three young women and their mother encounter some intriguing mystery men of their own.
Has a sixty-year-old puzzle sparked something new for this close-knit family of women?
My thoughts:
Secretly Smitten offers readers four contemporary stories in one book written by four delightful authors!
If you like romance novels and you are looking for a novel to tuck in your vacation tote or to savour during this upcoming Valentine day, this could be the one!
Four Christian novellas complimenting each other, and one mystery: the dog tags of a US soldier reported MIA found in the attic of Rose Thomas, septuagenarian living with her two eccentric sisters in Smitten, Vermont.
Whilst it is the mystery portion which enticed me to read the novel there is little doubt that Rose's granddaughters Tess, Zoe, Clare and their mother, Anna Thomas' romantic entanglements will make this book a sure hit and provide readers with a sigh or two!
The setting: Smitten, Vermont, a mining town whose popularity's resurge is due partly to the love affair of a well known singer, making it the Romance capital of the US (at least in the book Folks) and its citizens' hardwork.
Romance is in the air as you read each story, at least for each of the three sisters and their lovely Mum as they find their heart touched by love even when it is least expected!
Love Between The Lines ~ Collen Cobble
Make Me A Match ~Kritisn Billerbeck
Knit One Love Two ~ Diann Hunt
Love Blooms ~ Denise Hunter
The storylines are perfectly tied up with each other and sure to provide good entertainment!
As to the mystery...let's just say when GrandMa Rose's first love comes to light, her family have confused feelings about it but their resolve to uncover the truth leads to a surprise (or two...)
Lighthearted and just the thing to read when life gets boring!(My favourite is Love Blooms!)
A good Christian novel to share with anyone, 4 stars!
