Hey God, I've Got Some Guy Named Jonah In My Stomach, Book review & GIVEAWAY

Publisher: B&H Kids (May 1, 2013)
ISBN-13: 978-1433679643

Synopsis:

Oh sure, we'll all heard the story of Jonah and the Whale a hundred times. But have we heard it from the perspective of the whale who experienced that history-making event?

Hey God, I've Got Some Guy Named Jonah in My Stomach and I Think I'm Gonna Throw Up! imagines how that great sea creature from the incident might tell his side of the story, helping kids ages 4 to 8 discover a creative way of learning about that guy who was supposed to go to Ninevah.

The "Parent Connection" feature will help moms and dads take the story further with scripture references and tips on how to talk with their children about what really happened. There's even a free online app to make this bright retelling even more animated and interactive.

My thoughts:

Oh to be a child again! What better way to teach a child God's way than by telling them these new and quirky versions of the Bible?
Troy Schmidt uses his extensive talents in telling this famous story (and others) to children age 4 to 8 but this time from the whale's point of view. Be prepared for a chuckle or two!

A lesson in obedience, the book includes the bonus feature 'Parent connection' to help us guide little ones and understand we each have a choice to obey God or not.

With colourful illustrations little ones will surely enjoy discovering as you read them this story, 'Hey God, I've got some guy named Jonah in my stomach' is guaranteed to be a hit with one and all!

At only 32 pages this juvenile nonfiction story will be released on 1 May 2013!

5 Stars!!

    You are a beautiful giver.

Have you read, The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender? I have been meaning to read it for over a year and never get around to it. I think it's a must on my weekend to-do. Just wondered since you love books so much.
