Reaper Two-Six, Year 5: The Rise of Global Insurgency, Book Review

Book description:

The world is suffering from the effects of out-of-control terrorism. Governments are spending huge amounts of precious capital for the safety and security of air and rail transportation as well as inspections at all sea ports. The global economic effect is crippling; countries struggle to manage commerce, international trade, business growth, job creation and tourism. The world’s economy is on the brink of collapse.

The Global Defense Organization TM (GDO) has been created to be a cost effective multinational elite group that monitors, infiltrates and eliminates terrorist activities within all supporting countries. Known only as Reaper Two-Six TM, this secret 48 member squadron has quickly earned a reputation for precisely eliminating terrorist threats, in the air and on the ground.

Why did China and Columbia oppose the creation of the GDO? Are they connected to global terrorist cells? Are they secretly financing the sale of weapons? The Reaper’s greatest challenge is now upon them; infiltrate China and Columbia to discover their real intentions.

Through a series of electrifying and heart-stopping missions, see how the Reapers use their skills and advanced technology to put fear back where it belongs, in the minds of the terrorists, not in the minds of its citizens.

My review:

The rise of Global Insurgency is today's actuality! Terrorism has changed our lives in many ways. The 11th Septembre 2001 was not the first time the U.S. recognized the threat of terrorism but for many it was the first time it touched their lives directly . For others, it is an everyday happening, something you live with in the back of your mind, never forgetting today might bring more victims.
Traveling takes much longer than it used to, nothing in our luggage is private anymore and rightly so if you consider the alternative! Sadly victories over terrorism seems few and far between...

Reaper Two- Six, Year 5: The Rise of Global Insurgency is the well written, fast paced fiction work of Robert A. Grand and a very hard book to put down.
Action packed with a plot certain to grab you, this is not a book just for the men in your life, there are also heroines right in the middle of it all!
The author chose to write in the present tense putting readers into the action as though you are right in the cockpit or on the ground with the group. Interesting!

We all know they are dedicated agencies working 24/7 behind the scenes, keeping track of those who would hurt and destroy nations across the globe! Reaper Two- Six is such a group, albeit fictional of course.
Robert A. Grand writes a compelling story with heroes and losses, men and women who fight a daily battle to remove the threat of domestic and global terrorism, a hopeful reminder that governments around the world can and will continue to work against the forces of evil.

Fast paced and guaranteed to hold your interest until the very last page, both ex-RAF fly boy and I decreed this is certainly a keeper and worth 5 stars!

On that note, we are looking forward to Year 6!
