  • Publisher: Lion Hudson (November 1, 2013)
  • ISBN-13: 978-0745955865
  • Hardcover: 352 pages

SYNOPSIS:

Published to coincide with the 50th anniversary of C. S. Lewis's death, this complete guide covers all of Lewis' works, from his literary criticism to Narnia
C. S. Lewis's work is widely known and regarded, but enthusiasts are often only aware of one part of his work—his children's stories and his popular theology; and yet he wrote so much more, including science fiction and literary criticism.

This volume brings together all aspects of C S Lewis's life and thought. Arranged in alphabetical order, it begins with The Abolition of Man—written in 1943 and described as "almost my favorite"—to Wormwood, a character in The Screwtape Letters. This book will delight anyone who is interested in C. S. Lewis and wants to learn more about him, his thought, his works, and his life.

My Thoughts:

There are two items that comes to mind as you go through Colin Duriez's book: the first will be the incredible legacy C.S. Lewis has left us in his writings, the second being the extensive knowledge of Duriez's of an author he obviously greatly admires!

Most of us are familiar with C.S. Lewis to an extent with popular novels such as 'The Chronicles Of Narnia' for one but Duriez's book clearly shows what a prolific author he was.

The A-Z of C. S. Lewis is a remarkable catalog of Lewis' work, providing a cross reference on just about any character and place he ever created.

Duriez's compilation also highlights the motivations behind C.S. Lewis' works, his original thoughts and intentions in writing them. Page after page will offer fascinating insight on a Christian described as an intellectual giant of the 20th Century literary world.

Applauds to Colin Duriez for providing us with this mind boggling resource!

A great addition to any library and a wonderful gift for students of C.S. Lewis' work!

5 Stars!
